HELP STOP THE S.A.F.E. ACT

Don't be fooled!

This HSUS-driven legislation deceptively named the Save American Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act will further destroy the American Horse Industry and our U.S. economy. 

The Humane Society of the United States, Animal Wellness Action, and other radical animal rights organizations are  attempting to issue the final death blow to the American horse industry under the guise of horse welfare.  Don't be fooled!  

H.R. 3355, the SAFE Act is legislation which would amend the Horse Protection Act and, if passed,  prohibit the shipping, transporting, moving, delivering, receiving, possessing, purchasing, selling, or donation of horses and other equines to slaughter for human consumption, and for other purposes.  

"And for other purposes" is the slippery slope!  Good bye zoo diets and pet food!

The SAFE Act would shutter remaining horse slaughter plants and halt transport to equine processing facilities into Canada and Mexico and the animal rights organizations opposed to humane horse processing are not involved with animal agriculture or animal husbandry. So, please! Do not listen to the animal rights groups to do what THEY believe is what's best for horses!

As indicated by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released in June 2011, and as testified by practically every horse industry and agriculture organization in the U.S., the lack of horse processing in the U.S. has exacerbated the suffering of horses, increased the number of needless and wasteful deaths, and has caused more abandonment, neglect, pain, and misery for horses nationwide.

At a time when the U.S. is poised to solve this disgraceful dilemma for horses and the U.S. horse industry, please help us STOP this deceptive bill which would further destroy the U.S. economy, the horse industry, and the welfare of horses.

This measure sets a dangerous precedent to potentially halt the transport of other livestock animals used for food such as beef cattle and pork. Ultimately, the Save America's Forgotten Equines Act is an unconstitutional violation of private property.
