Urge San Antonio City Council to VOTE NO on Ban Proposal to BAN the Horse Carriage and Replace them with Electric Vehicles!

It is with great concern that we address the recent push by certain animal rights organizations to BAN horse-drawn carriages in San Antonio. These organizations, without valid reasoning beyond emotional propaganda, are urging the San Antonio City Council to replace these cherished symbols of our city's history and charm with electric carriages.

The proposed ordinance to BAN horse drawn carriages in San Antonio, Texas also proposes that they be replaced with electric carriages and pedicabs.

A ban on horse carriages in San Antonio would destroy lawful, long-standing family carriage businesses. The horses themselves live a pampered existence under the care from trained equine husbandry experts.

NOTHING will ever be good enough for the radical animal rights groups who have been scheming to abolish these iconic carriages for several years, claiming the carriage rides are unethical and "inhumane."

The anti-carriage movement is primarily spearheaded by organizations advancing an animal rights, animal abolition agenda which is an ideology based on emotion, not science or facts, and advocates that animals are equal to humans.

The proposal to replace horses with electric carriages fails to address the fundamental issue at hand: the fate of the horses themselves. Once removed from their jobs, these animals face a bleak future with no means to earn their keep. They are working animals, bred and trained for their tasks, and removing them from their jobs would be a disservice to their well-being.

Furthermore, approving such a ban would set a dangerous precedent not only for Texas but for the entire livestock industry. It sends a message that emotional appeals can override facts and reasoned discourse, posing a threat to countless livelihoods and traditions across the state.

We call upon the San Antonio Mayor and City Council to reject the misguided proposal to ban horse-drawn carraiges. Let's not allow the whims of a few to dictate the fate of a cherished tradition that has stood the test of time in Dallas and across the great state of Texas!

The proposal to replace the horses with Electric Vehicles (EVs) is absolutely absurd given the negative impact of EVs and the challenges we face across America in obtaining the materials to make these EVs and keep them charged.

The production of lithium-ion batteries, which are commonly used in electric vehicles, requires mining and processing of raw materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel. The extraction process has proven to have negative environmental and social impacts, including habitat destruction, water pollution, and human rights abuses. Additionally, recycling and disposal of used batteries present challenges due to the potential for hazardous waste.
